He is an active member of the CNP, National Press Club, and the United Seniors Association.
Ted was ordained a Bishop in the Independent Christian Churches International in 1985. He was also ordained in the International Ministerial Fellowship in 2007.
Ted Baehr was born in 1946, the son of Theodore Baehr (whose stage name was Robert “Tex” Allen) and Evelyn Peirce, both successful stage, screen, and television actors. Growing up in New York, Ted followed in his parents’ footsteps, performing in commercials, movies, television, and stage.
After studying abroad at the University of Munich, Germany; Cambridge University, England; and Bordeaux and Toulouse Universities in France, he graduated with high distinction in Comparative Literature and as a Rufus Choate Scholar from Dartmouth College. He then received his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, where he served as the editor of the NYU Law School newspaper.
It wasn’t until 1975 that Baehr’s life turned. While Ted was financing independent movies for Canon Films, a friend suggested that he read the Bible, which changed his perspective both professionally and personally.
Baehr decided to attend seminary at the Institute of Theology at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and received his Doctor of Humanities (HHD) from Belhaven College. He then accepted a position as the Director of the Television Center at the City University of New York and started the Good News Communications ministry. He also established the Episcopal Communicate Workshops.
During his tenure at the CUNY, Baehr worked closely with academia, researching the impact of the media in education.
He was elected President of the Episcopal Radio & Television Foundation in 1979 and began conceptualizing the Christian Film and Television Commission.
His previous research into the influence of the mass media of entertainment became a primary topic for his talk on Television & Reality at the April 9, 1981 Conference on Culture and Communication convened by Dr. Stewart Hoover at Temple University, where Baehr received national recognition.
In 1983, while serving on the Communications Board of the National Council of Churches and the National Religious Broadcasters, Baehr met George Heimrich. Heimrich was director of the Protestant Film Office in the 1950s and 1960s. Inspired by George Heimrich, Ted began contacting prominent members of the film industry, and in 1986, formed the Christian Film and Television Commission. Ted did research on the PTO’s activities and is working on a book on the subject. Heimrich donated his Protestant Film Office files to the Christian Film and Television Commission, where they now reside.
In 1985, noting a need to help advise parents and all those concerned about morality in movies – he is a husband and father of four children –Ted began publishing MOVIEGUIDEâ, a biweekly magazine which reviews all movies from a Biblical perspective. MOVIEGUIDEâis a reliable guide to moviegoers in helping them choose the good and reject the bad. MOVIEGUIDEâ’s accurate content ratings note not only sex, violence and profanity, but also worldview and other important criteria.
Along with the yearly Report to the Entertainment Industry, Dr. Baehr selects the ten best family friendly and the ten best morally edifying mature audience films each year and awards the producers, directors, writers, and distribution companies associated with these movies. Dr. Baehr also presents the coveted $50,000 Epiphany Prizes for Most Inspiring Movie and Most Inspiring Television Program. These cash prizes are for entertainment that helps people to better know God and understand His love.
By updating a guideline once known as the Motion Picture and Television Production Code, the Christian Film & Television Commission has secured support and signatures from more than one million individuals.

Friday, I just spent about 20 minutes trying to get through to Mary Bono. I finally got through, and actually talked with her. I gave some pretty good, if I can say great arguments. I believe she has her mind made up. I explained that I was from La Quinta. She was telling me that our rules in
She also asked me if I really knew what it was going to mean in increased taxes. I said, “yes, minimally hundreds of dollars, and more like about $1200 - $1500 per family per year.” She agreed that I was right. That is shocking. I said, “Don’t you think that is an impossible thing to ask the people of
I also said since she wasn’t really listening to her constituents that she would probably not be reelected. She said you might be right, but “Do you really think I should listen to polls?” I told her, “No, I think you should listen to the people who put you in power.”
She said I was threatening her that she would not be reelected. I said, it was no threat, simply true, that if she was not listening to those who put her in office, she would not be reelected.
She said, well, I have to vote to getting energy that is more green, etc. I said, “why does it have to be forced on us by government, why not give us incentives and allow for the creative factor.” I mentioned Microsoft. She said, Microsoft was not government induced. I said, “you’re right, it was a creative endeavor.” I also said if you give more incentives toward creativity, we would have more companies creating. Now, you are forcing companies to leave this country for countries such as
So, if you haven’t made your calls. Do it now! Mary Bono is 202 225-5330. She is La Quinta,

It became known as the Cloward-Piven Strategy and it became the economic foundation of Saul Alinsky’s Handbook for Radicals. The philosophy is one in which, if you create a serious enough financial crisis, you will be able to collapse the free enterprise system not just in the
At the heart of the “change” Obama promised are the bedrock positions of Cloward-Piven. “Change” always begins with a financial crisis. The financial crisis that overwhelmed the Election of 2008 was completely fabricated. It did not exist. It was made up. The advocates of social change used the Fed, which was complicit in the scheme, to engineer the change we are now experiencing. Well, we actually voted for what we got. We just failed to ask what it would be.
The crisis began with the subprime debacle. The Fed instituted a policy called “mark-to-market.” This made every bank reduce the value of the collateral on their mortgage loans, and altered the banks’ asset-to-debt ratios. Under Fed rules, they could no longer loan money to anyone. That created the financial crisis. Had the Fed rescinded the “mark-to-market” rule, every bank would have been okay. But the manipulators needed a crisis to implement change in
The Cloward-Piven laundry list of changes include: a financial crisis that will allow the nationalization of banks. Give more power to unions. (Unions now own 71% of Chrysler and 17% of GM.) Working class investors who put money in GM bonds to supplement their 401Ks lost 100% of their money in bankruptcy court when a federal judge ruled against them. Under Cloward-Piven no human being is illegal. The social progressive plan calls for blankee amnest for all illegals-or anyone else who wants to come here. Obama will take it a step farther by providing illegal aliens with the right to apply for, and receive, driver’s licenses—which, of course, means with a driver’s license under the Motor Voter Act, they can vote.
The laundry list includes things from a single payer health care for everyone to increasing the power of unions against employers to further redistribute what wealth is left in
Obama was the “come from nowhere” candidate which suddenly the money barons were backing for the White House. Obama’s candidacy made Hilary Clinton—who was the favorite daughter before Obama became the favorite son—say, “Hey…I’m a 1920-s social progressive, too!”

The 4th of July is just around the corner. Tea Party Americans are meeting again. We’re running out of time. I’m asking the Tea Party organizers to put the impeachment of Barack Obama at the top of their agenda. If we want to have any more Independence Day Celebrations, we need to be making some serious calls, emails, faxes or telegrams to our Congressment and Senators –in both parties—and letting them know if we still have Obama in Nov. 2010, they will be losing their jobs when we vote.”
I can really agree with most of what he has written above. Read it and be aware of some of the statements that are ringing true.
